To say the least.

FullSizeRender-23I worked out at 11:45 today. ‘Tis my least favorite time of day to do so. Dammit.

I once again completed the Paleo Challenge “Olympian”, Level II, my least favorite of the 3 baseline tests. Dammit.

Metcon (AMRAP – Reps)
9-minute AMRAP
20 G2OH – 65
7 Bar Facing Burpees
15 G2OH – 75
7 Bar Facing Burpees
10 G2OH- – 95
7 Bar Facing Burpees
5 G2OH – 135
7 Bar Facing Burpees
AMRAP G2OH – 155

My goal was to get one — just one single rep — at 155#. I did not achieve this goal. Dammit.

What went well:

  • I cleaned and then jerked each and every rep. Having played it out in my mind, I determined that I could clean & jerk just as fast as I could snatch. I completed the round of 20 @ 65 unbroken, round of 15 @ 75 in reps of 6, 5, & 4, the rounds of 10 @ 95 in reps of 5, and the round of 5 @ 135 as singles. Unlike in the very recent past, I easily cleaned & jerked 135. So that went well.
  • I didn’t struggle in the least on barbell facing burpees, and I wasn’t left winded after doing so.
  • I transitioned quickly and easily between rounds, and never fumbled with the weights and/or felt the need to rest.
  • I had completed 78 reps, i.e., made it through the round of 5 @ 135 including barbell facing burpees, in less than 6 minutes, and it only took me about 15 seconds to put 10s on the bar. That left about 45 seconds to complete just 1one rep.

What didn’t go well:

  • I just couldn’t pull myself under the bar, even after attempting to do so three times. Dammit.

I was very disappointed. To say the least.
