I worked out at 9:30 this morning, and the session was led by the lovely Deborah. Having already led three sessions, i knew what to expect. Oh, and I programmed the workout as well. Yup, there’s that.
A: Front Rack Lunge (complete 2 lunges/leg EMOTM for 10 minutes )
B: Strict Toes-To-Bar (Complete 3 reps EMOTM for 10 minutes)
Metcon (AMRAP – Reps)
Walking OH lunges (45)
Each lunge = 1 rep
I began light with lunges, and set goal to complete last set at 165#. I was concerned that my still somewhat sore left hamstring might impede my performance; thankfully, this did not occur. I completed sets @ 95, 95, 105, 115, 125, 135, 140, 145, 155, & 165. I began each set by completing lunge with left leg. Duh, that’s my dominant leg. ‘Twas more difficult to complete lunges with right leg, but I happily (and gruntingly) was able to do so.
As I knew that strict toes to bar would present little challenge, I wore a weight vest. I completed the first set wearing a mere 10# and increased the weight to 45# for the last 5 sets. I could’ve and perhaps should’ve completed more than 3 reps a set. I was concerned, however, that this would impede performance on walking overhead lunges.
That sh!t got heavy very fast. I completed 62, 38, and 28 reps/set for a total of 128 reps —far below the number of reps that my soon-to-be SuperFit partner, Dianne, completed.
